First Look: Bumblebee Faces His Biggest Mission Yet in ‘Lost Planet #1’
Let’s be real—we all have a massive soft spot for Bumblebee. Whether you grew up watching the original animated series, reading the classic runs, or just vibing with the movies, Bee has always been the heart of the Transformers. But what happens when you take away his team, his backup, and his way home?
We’re about to find out.
Skybound Visions is kicking off the new year with a serious bang. Hitting shelves on January 27, Transformers: Bumblebee – Lost Planet #1 promises to push our favorite yellow Autobot to his absolute limits.

Brought to life by an incredibly stacked creative team—writer Tate Brombal, artist Matt Emmons, colorist Giovanna Niro, and letterer Becca Carey—this limited series feels like exactly the kind of deep-dive character story we’ve been craving.
So, what’s the setup? Following a brutal Decepticon attack, Bumblebee finds himself totally stranded on an uncharted alien world. He’s completely cut off from the rest of the galaxy. No backup. No comms to call Optimus for a rescue. Just Bee, surviving on his own.
They often call him the “weakest of all the Autobots,” which is honestly a little harsh, but it perfectly sets the stakes. This isn’t a massive, explosive war-room battle; it’s a gritty, isolated survival story where Bee has to tackle the biggest mission of his young life entirely on his own.
You can really get a sense of this isolation and the awesome, slightly trippy sci-fi aesthetic from the cover art. Make sure to check out the file HUN3eITXMAAYXK7.jpg to see what Emmons and Niro are cooking up. The color palette alone has this beautifully eerie, Moebius-esque vibe that perfectly sells the “uncharted planet” premise.
We love a good underdog story, and putting Bumblebee in a scenario where he has to rely purely on his own wits and courage sounds like a recipe for a fantastic comic.
