Toei Video has announced that “You’re Under Arrest,” the beloved 1990s police comedy anime, will be celebrating its 30th anniversary with a brand-new high-quality Blu-ray Disc release. The OVA series will be remastered using the first-ever HD telecine from the original film elements, bringing fans the sharpest and most vibrant version of the series to date.

The Blu-ray edition is set to be released on January 28, 2026, marking three decades since the anime’s debut. This special edition will include all original OVA episodes, featuring improved picture clarity, enhanced sound quality, and newly created bonus content that revisits the show’s legacy.

Originally produced by Studio Gallop and directed by Morio Asaka, You’re Under Arrest follows police officers Natsumi Tsujimoto and Miyuki Kobayakawa as they navigate traffic patrol duties and everyday chaos in Tokyo’s Bokuto Police Station. The series quickly became a fan favorite for its blend of comedy, heartwarming moments, and dynamic action scenes.

As a new video bonus, a talk by Sunokiko Tamagawa (as Natsumi Tsujimoto) and Akiko Hiramatsu (as Miyuki Kobayakawa) of the 30th anniversary screening of the animation of “I’ll Arrest You” on March 1, 2025 is included.
In addition, the booklet contains new interviews with the main staff and cast, including the original author Kosuke Fujishima.
It is a luxurious specification suitable for the 30th anniversary.

Fans can expect the upcoming Blu-ray to deliver both nostalgia and freshness — an opportunity to relive the charm of 90s anime with modern high-definition quality.
