Spider-Man vs. Miles Morales? Marvel Announces Crisis of Faith for April 2027
Marvel’s two most recognizable web-slingers are about to discover that being Spider-Man doesn’t always mean seeing things the same way.
Peter Parker and Miles Morales have spent years building a relationship rooted in mutual respect, shared responsibility, and the complicated reality of being Spider-Man. But what happens when that trust starts to crack?
Marvel Comics has an answer coming in April 2027. Announced during the publisher’s Spider-Man panel at New York Comic Con 2026, Crisis of Faith is an upcoming crossover between The Amazing Spider-Man and Miles Morales: Spider-Man that promises to put the relationship between these two heroes to the test.
And this time, the biggest threat might not be a supervillain.
Two Spider-Men, One Growing Divide

Written by Joe Kelly, the current writer of The Amazing Spider-Man, and Bryan Edward Hill, writer of Miles Morales: Spider-Man, Crisis of Faith will bring both creative teams together for a story that could change the dynamic between Peter and Miles.
Marvel editor Nick Lowe revealed that Peter has been making increasingly risky decisions following his confrontation with Hellgate, an encounter that left the wall-crawler questioning his own strength. Some of those choices will eventually come to light, and Miles isn’t going to be happy about them.
But Peter isn’t the only one with something to answer for.
Miles has also been spending time with questionable company, creating another source of tension between the two heroes. Their disagreements could expose a much deeper problem: neither Spider-Man may be entirely comfortable with the person the other is becoming.
According to Marvel’s announcement, the crossover is designed to be a no-holds-barred confrontation. Promotional artwork by Ryan Stegman accompanied the reveal, giving fans their first glimpse of the upcoming event.
Why This Crossover Matters
Peter Parker and Miles Morales first crossed paths in Spider-Men (2012), the story that brought the original Spider-Man into contact with Miles from the Ultimate Universe.
Since then, their connection has evolved beyond a simple mentor-and-student relationship. Peter represents a different generation of Spider-Man, while Miles has developed his own identity, responsibilities, and approach to heroism.
That’s what makes Crisis of Faith an interesting direction for Marvel.
The best Spider-Man stories have always understood that the mask doesn’t erase the person underneath it. Peter’s responsibilities have repeatedly collided with his personal life, while Miles has had to balance his family, friendships, and growing role as a hero.
Putting those perspectives in conflict creates an opportunity to explore something more personal than another superhero showdown.
What happens when the person who understands your responsibilities better than anyone else is also the person who believes you’re making the wrong decisions?
And if Peter and Miles can no longer trust each other’s judgment, what does that mean for the people who depend on them?
Those are the questions that could make this crossover worth following.
The Road to Crisis of Faith
The announcement also connects the event to ongoing developments in both Spider-Man comic series.
Peter’s encounters with Hellgate have pushed him toward increasingly desperate attempts to become stronger. Meanwhile, Miles is facing his own challenges involving loyalty and the people around him.
These parallel storylines give the crossover room to build naturally rather than simply throwing the two characters into a fight for the sake of a big event.
Marvel has also teased the involvement of a reworked villain, although further details about that character and the full plot have yet to be revealed.
For now, the publisher is keeping the bigger picture under wraps. Readers will have to follow the individual series as more pieces of the story fall into place.
Can Peter and Miles Still Trust Each Other?
Here’s what makes Crisis of Faith particularly compelling: Peter and Miles don’t need to become enemies for their relationship to change forever.
Sometimes, the most difficult conflict comes from believing that you’re doing the right thing while watching someone you respect make choices you can’t accept.
Peter has spent decades learning what responsibility means, often through painful mistakes. Miles has grown into a formidable Spider-Man in his own right, with his own values and the confidence to challenge the people around him.
Neither character needs to be the villain for this story to work.
If Joe Kelly and Bryan Edward Hill can give both perspectives equal weight, Crisis of Faith could become a meaningful turning point for the Spider-Man corner of the Marvel Universe. The real question isn’t necessarily which Spider-Man wins a fight. It’s whether their partnership can survive what comes next.

For Spider-Man fans, this is one crossover worth keeping on the radar. Peter Parker and Miles Morales have spent years proving that there’s room for more than one Spider-Man. Now, they may have to prove that two heroes can disagree without losing what makes them a team.
And if their faith in each other is already beginning to crack, April 2027 could get messy.
What do you think? Is Peter Parker making mistakes Miles has every right to challenge, or is Miles about to cross a line of his own? Let us know which side you’re on.
