Blue Eye Samurai Season 2 Trailer Takes Mizu’s Revenge to London
Mizu is back, and her quest for revenge is about to become even bloodier. Netflix has unveiled a new trailer for Blue Eye Samurai Season 2, confirming its return on January 19, 2027.
The wait for Mizu’s next chapter is finally coming to an end. The Emmy-winning animated series Blue Eye Samurai is returning to Netflix with a second season that takes its story beyond Japan, bringing its fiercely determined protagonist into the dangerous streets of 17th-century London.
The new trailer picks up after the events of Season 1, following Mizu as she continues hunting down the remaining men connected to her origins. Her journey across the sea is only the beginning of another brutal chapter, with London becoming the next battleground in her pursuit of revenge.
From Edo Japan to the Streets of London
Season 2 introduces a significant change in setting. Mizu will have to navigate an unfamiliar world, facing new enemies, unexpected allies, and a society shaped by very different rules and prejudices.
But the story won’t leave Japan behind. Back in Edo, Akemi and Taigen find themselves navigating the dangerous political environment of Edo Castle under a new and threatening Shogun. Meanwhile, Ringo continues searching for a new purpose after the events of the first season.
This expanded narrative promises to develop both sides of the story, exploring how each character deals with power, identity, and the consequences of their choices.
A Returning Creative Team and New Voices
Created by Amber Noizumi and Michael Green, Blue Eye Samurai returns with its original creative leadership. Both creators are back as writers and executive producers, with Jane Wu returning as supervising director and producer. French animation studio Blue Spirit is once again responsible for bringing the series to life.
Maya Erskine returns as the voice of Mizu, alongside Brenda Song as Akemi, Darren Barnet as Taigen, and Masi Oka as Ringo.
The second season also introduces new cast members, including Jonathan Pryce as Old Violet, Joel Kim Booster as Priest Ando, and Sherry Cola as Kuma.
When Does Blue Eye Samurai Season 2 Premiere?
Netflix has confirmed that all six episodes of Blue Eye Samurai Season 2 will premiere worldwide on January 19, 2027, exclusively on Netflix.
And there’s more good news for fans: the creators have already confirmed that Mizu’s journey is planned to conclude with a third and final season, currently expected in 2028.
After establishing itself as one of the most distinctive adult animated series in recent years, Blue Eye Samurai is preparing to take its story into new territory. Mizu’s world is getting bigger, but her thirst for revenge remains unchanged.
Blue Eye Samurai Season 2 arrives January 19, 2027, only on Netflix.
