Zomburbia’s Next Chapter: Plants vs. Zombies 3 Takes Root This Year!

PopCap Studios has announced a new installment of the popular Plants vs. saga. Zombies.

Plants vs. Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia will be published later this year worldwide for iOS and Android mobile devices, but there has already been a soft launch in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Australia and the Philippines.

With this soft launch, the team aims to collect feedback from the community to improve the experience before the game is available worldwide.

The new installment once again relies on the playable tower defense strategy mechanics of the originals, but adds a new narrative with episodes and puzzle elements to the adventure. There will also be new types of flowers, the return of many mutant plants from previous games or the possibility of creating your version of Neighborville.

Plants vs. Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia is free-to-play and includes various in-game purchases for financing.

The first Plants vs. Zombies was published in 2009 and became a wildly popular mobile title. Its sequel arrived in 2013, and spin-offs such as Garden Warfare for consoles have also been published throughout these years.
