Reebok & PlayStation Launch 30th Anniversary Sneaker Collection
In a move that bridges gaming culture and sneakerhead fervor, Reebok and Sony Interactive Entertainment today unveiled a limited-edition sneaker collaboration to mark the 30th anniversary of the original PlayStation console. The PlayStation x Reebok 30th Anniversary Collection will launch this October in select regions, offering three region-exclusive silhouettes imbued with nostalgic design cues.
Region-Specific Styles Rooted in PlayStation History
Each shoe in the collection is tied to one of the PlayStation’s original launch markets — Japan, the U.S., and the U.K. — and is built on iconic Reebok models that align with the era.
-
Instapump Fury 94 (Japan): Designed as a tribute to the 1994 Japanese launch, this pair features a pump ball marked “Press Play,” and a tongue label inspired by a PlayStation memory card, along with hidden date details.
-
Pump Omni Zone II (U.S.): Representing the U.S. launch, this version includes dual lace options, a custom pump styled in PlayStation colors, and internal references to the launch date “9/9/1995.”
-
Workout Plus (U.K.): The U.K. release pair comes with detachable lace lock cable attachments (a nod to console wiring), internal arch support, and hidden “9/29/1995” date markings.
All three models share a signature “PlayStation gray” color palette, retro styling flourishes (such as button-shaped lace dubraes), and specially designed packaging that mirrors the original console’s aesthetic.

Branding, Design & Cultural Significance
The collaboration succeeds in combining the nostalgic power of gaming with the heritage of classic sneaker culture. Reebok’s silhouettes were chosen to reflect the time period and regional release history, while the visual language and packaging lean heavily on iconic PlayStation motifs.
Mubi Ali, Global Senior Product Marketing Manager at Reebok, described the project as “a time machine” — an homage to the dial-up, after-school era of the 1990s, reimagined in stitching, laces, and molds.
Because of the limited supply, interested buyers are encouraged to monitor each region’s partner retailers and participate in raffles or launch events.
For stamp-obsessed fans, hardcore collectors, or nostalgic gamers, this drop offers a chance to wear a piece of PlayStation history.
