The fog is rolling back in—Silent Hill is returning to theaters. The first official teaser trailer for Return to Silent Hill has been released, offering fans a chilling glimpse at the long-awaited revival of the franchise.

Directed once again by Christophe Gans, who helmed the original 2006 Silent Hill film, the upcoming movie adapts Konami’s acclaimed video game Silent Hill 2. The story follows James Sunderland, played by Jeremy Irvine, who is drawn back to the eerie town after receiving a mysterious letter from his lost love. Hannah Emily Anderson also stars as Mary, while the teaser hints at the appearance of some of the game’s most infamous monsters, including the dreaded Pyramid Head.

Gans co-wrote the screenplay with Sandra Vo-Anh and William Josef Schneider, and filming took place across Germany and Serbia from 2023 to 2024. Unlike a direct sequel, the new film works as a standalone adaptation, designed to capture the unsettling atmosphere and psychological horror that made Silent Hill 2 a cult classic.

Distributed by Cineverse’s Bloody Disgusting label and Iconic Events Releasing, Return to Silent Hill is set to haunt U.S. theaters on January 23, 2026.

Fans of horror and gaming alike can now dive into the official teaser trailer, which promises a faithful yet terrifying new vision of Silent Hill.
