Luc Besson’s Dracula Returns with a Bleeding Heart in New 2025 Trailer
The first trailer for Dracula: A Love Tale, Luc Besson’s haunting new adaptation of the legendary vampire mythos, has arrived — and it’s as stylish and tragic as fans hoped.
Starring Caleb Landry Jones as the immortal Count and Christoph Waltz as a mysterious priest, the film offers a brooding, romantic twist on Bram Stoker’s iconic tale. The story follows Vladimir, a grief-stricken 15th-century prince who turns to darkness after the death of his beloved. Centuries later in Victorian London, he becomes obsessed with a woman who looks exactly like his lost love.
The trailer teases a visually rich gothic atmosphere, complete with sweeping landscapes, ominous shadows, and intimate moments that highlight the Count’s internal torment. Besson, known for Léon: The Professional and The Fifth Element, returns to the director’s chair with a project that blends horror with the tragic poetry of eternal love.
The film is set to premiere in north america release on July 30, 2025, followed by Mexico on August 14, with wider international rollout in the fall. Shot primarily in the snowy regions of Finland, the production evokes a chilling yet romantic backdrop.
Backed by EuropaCorp and SND, with music composed by Danny Elfman, this Dracula may be Besson’s most emotionally resonant film in years.
With its Shakespearean themes and arthouse energy, Dracula: A Love Tale is poised to be one of 2025’s most anticipated genre releases. Vampire fans and gothic romantics alike should mark their calendars.
