This Thursday a new animated Slam Dunk project is announced by surprise. This successful Takehiko Inoue spokon will return to the big screen in film form more than 25 years later. Like the mythical television series, Toei Animation is behind this animated production. At the moment there are no more details about this project, apart from a web teaser and an official Twitter account.

Until now, the anime adaptation of the Slam Dunk manga featured a 101-episode television series plus four short films. The series aired on the Japanese small screen for the first time between October 1993 and March 1996.
