New City Hunter Anime Film Trailer
The official Twitter account for the City Hunter franchise announced on Wednesday that the franchise‘s upcoming new anime film will be titled City Hunter The Movie: Angel Dust (Gekijо̄ban City Hunter: Tenshi no Namida), and it will open in Japan this fall.
City Hunter began as a manga in 1985 by creator Tsukasa Hojo. Since then, multiple anime series and movies have been made based on the original manga, as well as a spinoff series called Angel Heart.
The series experienced renewed interest after a new film was released in 2019, 20 years since the latest film in the franchise at that time.
A Netflix movie adaptation of City Hunter is set to be released in 2024. The manga previously inspired a 1993 live-action movie starring Jackie Chan, a 2019 French adaptation, and a yet-to-be-released Chinese adaptation.
