He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Trailer Released by Netflix

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe are the second of two series based on the He-Man property in the works from Netflix. The first, announced in August 2020, is the anime series Masters of the Universe: Revelation, helmed by Kevin Smith and animated by Powerhouse Animation. While Revelation serves as a sequel series to the original cartoon, the new He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is a reboot, featuring familiar characters and themes with new designs. Another contrast is the animation styles of the two series, as Revelation is traditional where He-Man is 3D.

The series will be produced by Mattel Television, with Adam Bonnett, Christopher Keenan, and Revelation‘s Rob David serving as executive producers. Bryan Q. Miller, known for his work on Smallville, is the showrunner for the series. The new trailer is the first footage from the project to be revealed, although Mattel’s new line of action figures based on the show offered an idea of what the characters of He-Man, Skeletor, Evil Lyn and Battle Cat would look like.

This upcoming CG animated series is going to reimagine the classic story of the Guardians of Grayskull while bringing new heroic adventures for them to embark on. The series will introduce the new He-Man, Adam, a relatable protagonist to inspire the next generation of children and teens alike, and the colourful members of his brave but inexperienced crew which include a Master of Technology, a Master of Magic, a Master of the Wild, and a Master of Demolition.
