THE LAST OF US Factions Multiplayer Game could be free-to-play

Naughty Dog announced The Last of Us standalone multiplayer title a few months ago during Summer Games Fest 2022. At the time, the developer had only shared a few details about the game, with no mention of the release date, price, or gameplay. Now, there seem to be more details about the title, thanks to a job listing on Naughty Dog website. During the multiplayer game’s announcement, Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann said, “What started as a multiplayer mode has evolved due to the team’s ambition.” Druckmann also said that the multiplayer title is in “some ways bigger” than its single-player games.

The above was speculated after a job vacancy at Naughty Dog offered some details for a job, among which the duration of the project stands out because as mentioned in the publication, they are looking for someone who can keep up with the pace of the game from the beginning to its later growth.

As such, it is not specified that the vacancy is to work on The Last of Us multiplayer, but considering that the job description has many similarities with the Naughty Dog title, it is very likely that the study is looking for someone for the beloved post-apocalyptic franchise.

Naughty Dog hasn’t shared many details about The Last of Us multiplayer game besides its concept image. The game will have a massive map set in San Francisco, which is expected to be great for combat. The concept art of The Last of Us standalone multiplayer game has led to a fan theory stating there was a quarantine zone in San Francisco with a huge Firefly presence. Many fans now believe that they could be playing as Fireflies to fight against rival groups and the infected in the multiplayer game.
