First Look: Star Wars: Galactic Racer Brings Underground Racing to PS5, Xbox, and PC
The galaxy just got a whole lot faster. During Sony’s latest State of Play broadcast, Lucasfilm Games and PlayStation unveiled the adrenaline-charged gameplay trailer for Star Wars: Galactic Racer, a bold new entry in the franchise that trades lightsabers for nitro boosts. The game is set to launch in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC
et in the lawless Outer Rim, Galactic Racer is described as a “runs-based, high-stakes reinvention of racing,” where players compete in the Galactic League—an underground, unsanctioned circuit bankrolled by criminal syndicates. With the fall of the Empire and the galaxy in flux, this isn’t about the Force or destiny—it’s about raw speed, strategy, and survival.
The trailer showcases a variety of exotic tracks across iconic Star Wars locales, from the dusty dunes of Tatooine to neon-lit cityscapes reminiscent of Coruscant’s underworld. Players can expect customizable speeders, dynamic weather effects, and a roster of daring racers from across the galaxy.
While details on multiplayer modes and story elements remain under wraps, the trailer hints at both single-player progression and competitive online play. Fans can already wishlist the game on the PlayStation Store.
With its kinetic energy, gritty aesthetic, and lore-rich setting, Star Wars: Galactic Racer looks poised to carve out a unique lane in the racing genre—one hyperspace jump at a time.
