Team Ninja and PlatinumGames Reveal ‘Ninja Gaiden 4’ with New Protagonist

In a thrilling revelation at the Xbox Developer Direct 2025, Team Ninja and PlatinumGames have officially announced “Ninja Gaiden 4,” marking a significant return for the iconic action series.

The announcement trailer introduces players to Yakumo, a formidable ninja from the Raven clan, who embarks on a perilous mission to defeat the Divine Dragon Order. Set against the backdrop of a dystopian Tokyo ravaged by the “rain of black putrefaction” unleashed by the Black Dragon, the game promises an intense and immersive experience.

Fans will be excited to learn that Ryu Hayabusa, the legendary protagonist of previous installments, will also make a return as a playable character, adding depth to the narrative and gameplay dynamics.

“Ninja Gaiden 4” is slated for a Fall 2025 release and will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5. Notably, the game will be accessible through Xbox Game Pass from day one, allowing subscribers to dive into the action without delay.

In conjunction with this announcement, a remastered version of “Ninja Gaiden II,” titled “Ninja Gaiden II Black,” has been released and is now available on Xbox and Game Pass, offering fans a chance to revisit the classic with enhanced features.
