Fairy Tail: Dungeons Launches on Nintendo Switch This January
Kodansha Game Creators’ Lab revealed on Tuesday that Fairy Tail: Dungeons, the latest indie project from developer ginolabo, will officially arrive on the Nintendo Switch on January 7. The announcement marks a new chapter for fans eager to explore fresh stories within the Fairy Tail universe.
Designed as a dungeon-crawling adventure, Fairy Tail: Dungeons brings players into a new fantasy journey inspired by the beloved manga and anime series. While the studio has yet to share extensive gameplay footage, early descriptions suggest a blend of exploration, strategy, and combat wrapped in a charming art style typical of Kodansha-backed indie titles.
The game’s development under Kodansha Game Creators’ Lab highlights the company’s continued investment in supporting small-scale creators while expanding its portfolio of interactive titles. With a release date now set, fans can expect more details and trailers in the coming weeks as January approaches.
The new version and update adds five characters: Gajeel, Juvia, Mirajane, Laxus, and Gildarts. It also adds over 200 amulets, more than 170 magic cards, 100+ skills, 50 Labyrinth quests, 30 monsters, and 20 items. In addition, there are new Special Labyrinth Exploration and casual modes, as well as higher difficulties for Labyrinth, Abyssal Conquest modes. Quality-of-life updates include the new card upgrade system, UI improvements, and additional control schemes.
In the game, players build a team of three characters and a deck of magic cards, then take them into an underground maze and engage in turn-based combat against monsters.
