AMC has officially announced that Anne Rice’s The Vampire Lestat — the third season of its hit Interview with the Vampire series — will premiere in 2026.

The new season shifts the narrative from Louis to Lestat de Lioncourt, diving deep into the legendary vampire’s origin story, personal turmoil, and rise to gothic rock stardom. This marks the show’s adaptation of Anne Rice’s second novel in The Vampire Chronicles.

Production began in June 2025, and the season will introduce a host of new characters including Lestat’s vampire maker Magnus (Damien Atkins), his mother Gabrielle (Jennifer Ehle), and ancient vampire Marius (Christopher Heyerdahl).

Fans got their first tease of the new direction during San Diego Comic-Con 2025, where AMC showcased concept art and cast updates. While no official premiere date has been revealed yet, 2026 is now confirmed as the target year for its highly anticipated return.

The second season, which concluded earlier in 2025, was met with critical acclaim and ended on a cliffhanger that sets up Lestat’s transformation from cursed aristocrat to vampire anti-hero and rock icon.

AMC’s Immortal Universe is expanding rapidly, and The Vampire Lestat promises to bring a darker, more seductive edge to the franchise with the same lavish production and emotionally rich storytelling fans expect.

Stay tuned for updates as we await the return of one of the most iconic vampires in literature and television.
