Westeros is calling once again. HBO has officially released the first trailer for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, the highly anticipated Game of Thrones spin-off based on George R.R. Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg.

Set roughly a century before the events of Game of Thrones, the series follows the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall (Dunk), a wandering knight, and his unlikely squire, Egg — who fans will recognize as the future King Aegon V Targaryen. The show promises a lighter tone compared to House of the Dragon, focusing more on chivalry, friendship, and the political intrigue of a kingdom still recovering from Targaryen rule.

The trailer teases sweeping medieval visuals, tense jousts, and a younger, more idealistic Westeros. Fans can spot familiar heraldry, hints of dragon symbolism, and the rich, lived-in atmosphere that made the Thrones universe so captivating.

HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms stars Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan and Dexter Sol Ansell as Egg. The series is written and produced by George R.R. Martin alongside Ira Parker, with executive producers Ryan Condal and Vince Gerardis, key figures from House of the Dragon.

With House of the Dragon Season 3 on the way, this new spin-off expands the ever-growing Westeros saga — and gives fans another reason to return to the Seven Kingdoms.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is set to premiere on HBO and Max in 2025.
