Watch the LEGO 40483 Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber

Today will be a great day for many LEGO Star Wars fans! Not only will the LEGO Star Wars UCS AT-AT be presented in the course of the day, but LEGO has just published its first official picture for the free gift: the LEGO 40483 Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber.

The picture appeared a few minutes ago via the LEGO instruction service. LEGO probably intended to present the small set together with the AT-AT this afternoon, but has now published an official picture itself. The resolution of the small product image leaves a lot to be desired, but we will deliver more images for the “Gift with Purchase” set during the course of the day (if available).

The lightsaber is said to consist of 173 parts and, unlike Yoda’s lightsaber, does not come in a cheap, yellow “VIP box”, but comes in a stylish standard box in LEGO 18+ design. The set will be released together with the LEGO Star Wars 75313 UCS AT-AT on November 26, 2021 and will probably only be available as a free gift with the AT-AT, or generally with the purchase of LEGO Star Wars products above a certain purchase value. Just like with the last lightsaber, the enclosed badge will be printed.

Strictly speaking, this is not Luke’s own lightsaber, but rather the lightsaber of his father, Anakin Skywalker, which Luke inherited through Obi-Wan Kenbobi. That fits in so far as this is of course the lightsaber with which Luke attacks the AT-AT at the beginning of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. At the end of the film, he loses the lightsaber and then builds his own between episodes V and VI.
