Paramount+ has unveiled the highly anticipated first teaser for Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, a new series set in the 32nd century and scheduled to premiere in 2026. The show will explore the lives, challenges, and camaraderie of a new class of cadets enrolled at Starfleet’s legendary institution — the first class admitted in over 120 years.

Set after the events of Star Trek: Discovery, this new series ventures deeper into a revitalized Federation. Academy Chancellor Nahla Ake, portrayed by Oscar-winner Holly Hunter, is a half-Lanthanite leader who also captains the U.S.S. Athena. Her character anchors the cadets’ training, while actor Paul Giamatti plays the series antagonist, Nus Braka — a hybrid of Klingon and Tellarite descent with a personal grudge against Starfleet.

Alongside them is a fresh ensemble of cadets, played by Kerrice Brooks, Karim Diané, George Hawkins, Bella Shepard, and others, whose diverse stories promise to deliver a new, character-driven layer to the Star Trek universe.
