Doctor Who is coming to Disney+ in the rest of the world for the next season
The next season of #DoctorWho will return on BBC in the U.K. in 2023 and will begin airing on Disney+ in the rest of the world
The BBC is partnering with Disney to launch upcoming episodes Who is the doctor? to the Disney Plus streaming platform for a global audience, complete with a brand new logo inspired by Tom Baker’s era as the Galaxy-again herald. But it is also more difficult to make a show of sealing.
New episodes of the season TV show will air on the BBC for the UK and Ireland; with Disney Plus becoming the exclusive home for new times of Who is the doctor? for global audiences. Who is the doctor? will return to screens in November 2023 to coincide with the 60th anniversary, premiering exclusively on the BBC for the UK and Ireland.
In the recent case of Jodie Whittaker’s run as the Thirteenth Doctor, David Tennant will return to play the 4th Doctor out of three specials (also the Tenth so hopefully fans will have debates as to whether he’s technically the new Doctor) before Ncuti Gatwa takes the helm of the TARDIS as the fifth Doctor. The trailer is now available for those who watch the early version of Gatwa’s season of horror, and Russell T. Davies will also return as a season 14 showrunner after successfully directing the reboot of the British classic in 2005.
But today’s announcement about the partnership between the BBC and Disney Plus only refers to the episodes that will be broadcast from 2023, which will still require an HBO Max subscription to watch the episodes in the US, while the UK-based fans of the show can. watch seasons 1-13 on BBC iPlayer. So outside the UK, you need to keep two streaming subscriptions to have access to the entire series. That will make it more difficult to respect – and completely vulnerable to new fans looking to catch up.
