Jeph Loeb Returns to Marvel for New ‘X-Men of Apocalypse’ Series

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the seminal ‘Age of Apocalypse’ storyline, Marvel Comics is set to release ‘X-Men of Apocalypse,’ a new six-part event series penned by Jeph Loeb, one of the original creators, with art by Simone Di Meo. The series is scheduled to begin in September 2025.
The storyline picks up in the aftermath of the original ‘Age of Apocalypse,’ exploring a dystopian reality where Charles Xavier’s death led to Apocalypse’s reign. Despite the restoration of the main timeline, this alternate universe persisted.Now, Magneto’s war-torn X-Men—including Gambit, Sabretooth & Wild Child, Blink, Forge, and Morph—embark on a desperate mission into the main Marvel Universe to ensure their world’s survival, leading to confrontations with their classic counterparts.
The event will kick off with ‘X-Men of Apocalypse Alpha #1’ on September 3, 2025, followed by four main issues starting in November, and concluding with ‘X-Men of Apocalypse Omega #1.’ A prelude to the event will be featured in ‘Giant-Size Age of Apocalypse #1’ on June 25, 2025, where Loeb and Di Meo team up for a special ‘Revelations’ backup story. Fans can look forward to a blend of classic and new elements as ‘X-Men of Apocalypse’ revisits one of Marvel’s most iconic alternate realities.
