Imperial Guardians: Marvel Launches New Cosmic Team in March 2026
Marvel Comics today officially confirmed the launch of Imperial Guardians, a brand-new ongoing cosmic series scheduled to debut in March 2026. The book — written by veteran cosmic storyteller Dan Abnett and illustrated by Marcelo Ferreira — represents the next phase of the expanding post-Imperial landscape.
Imperial Guardians arises from the fallout of Imperial and its lead-in one-shots. The final tie-in, Imperial War: Imperial Guardians (2025), already brought together a rag-tag team of spacefaring heroes for a desperate mission against a dark conspiracy within the Skrull Empire.
According to Marvel’s announcement, the new series will see this unconventional team undertake covert and morally complex assignments — guarding and enforcing a “new cosmic order.” The implication: in a galaxy in flux, the Guardians won’t always operate by the book.
For long-time fans of Marvel’s cosmic side, Imperial Guardians promises to offer the kind of grand scale, political intrigue, and character drama that once defined classics such as Annihilation. As Abnett returns to helm cosmic storytelling, readers may find this an ideal jumping-on point — or a bold reset.
Mark your calendars: March 2026 could usher in a new cosmic age for Marvel — and it all starts with Imperial Guardians.
