DC Comics has revealed a bold new project: Bizarro: Year One, a four-issue miniseries written by Kevin Smith and Eric Carrasco, with art by Nick Pitarra. The series promises what DC calls the “definitive, indefinitive” take on Bizarro’s beginnings, leaning into the character’s contradictions and off-kilter charm.

The story follows Daily Planet staples Jimmy Olsen and Perry White as they leave the familiar newsroom behind for a strange journey into outer space. Their adventure leads them to a bizarre dimension that mirrors Metropolis—complete with a legendary newspaper revered almost like sacred scripture.

As Jimmy and Perry dig deeper, they uncover unsettling truths about this warped world and the mysterious figure at its center. Is he a misguided fan of Superman, a force of pure chaos, or something else entirely?

With Smith’s signature storytelling, Carrasco’s sharp scripting, and Pitarra’s dynamic visuals, Bizarro: Year One is set to deliver a fresh, surreal exploration of one of Superman’s most enduring and eccentric foes.

Bizarro: Year None #1 goes on sale April 1, 2026, and the series publishes monthly through July, available at participating comic book shops and digital retailers. The debut issue arrives as a 32-page comic priced at $4.99 US, with variant covers by Frank Quitely, Fernando Pasarin, and Ibrahim Moustafa, plus a foil variant by Pitarra. Variant covers will be available for $5.99 US (card stock) and $7.99 US (foil).
