Iconic Manga Artist Yazawa Ai Designs New Yebisu Beer Cans for Spring Release
Sapporo Breweries has announced a new limited-edition release of Yebisu Beer featuring original artwork by globally acclaimed manga artist Yazawa Ai, creator of iconic titles like NANA and Paradise Kiss.
The collaboration includes specially designed 350ml and 500ml cans, along with a premium 350ml 12-can beautiful carton set, all scheduled for nationwide release across Japan on March 3, 2026.
The unique designs reinterpret Yebisu’s long heritage of “bijin-ga” (beautiful person art) through Yazawa’s contemporary aesthetic, portraying themes of new beginnings and personal transformation with graceful, blossom-laden visuals.
In addition to the product launch, Sapporo is running multiple promotional campaigns tied to the collaboration. Purchasers of eligible packs can enter lotteries to win original design merchandise, including plates and exclusive can sets.

Two campaigns were held to coincide with the product’s release. In the “Win Yebisu Beer Yazawa Ai Original Design Goods Campaign,” where customers who purchase eligible products will receive a prize will have the opportunity to win. Prize A is an “original design plate,” and Prize B is an assortment of three 350ml and three 500ml designed cans in an original box. In addition, the prize for the “X Follow & Repost Campaign,” where customers can win Yebisu Beer Yazawa Ai Original Design Cans, is a set of 24 350ml designed cans.
Collectors and fans are also anticipating related events slated for March in Tokyo and Fukuoka, where original art and collaborative content will be on display.
This partnership further underscores Yebisu Beer’s tradition of collaborating with renowned artists to bring cultural flair to its packaging — a strategy seen in past collaborations and special editions.
