TRIGUN STARGAZE Confirmed: Sequel to Stampede Debuts in Early 2026
Fans of the Trigun franchise have long awaited the next chapter — and now the wait is nearly over. Studio Orange has officially confirmed that TRIGUN STARGAZE, billed as the final phase of their Trigun Stampede continuity, will begin broadcasting in January 2026.
🎬 Trailer & Teaser Visual
A new trailer has been released, offering glimpses of Vash, Meryl, Milly, Wolfwood, and antagonistic forces stirring in the desert wastes. Accompanying the trailer is a striking key visual by new character designer Kiyotaka Oshiyama, showcasing Vash against a red-toned backdrop with the cryptic tagline “Existence and Pain.”
TRIGUN STARGAZE unfolds roughly 2.5 years after the events of Stampede. In the aftermath of Vash’s confrontation with his brother Knives, Vash is believed to have lost his memory and is living in seclusion on the harsh world known as Noman’s Land. Meanwhile, Meryl and Milly continue their search, and familiar faces like Nicholas D. Wolfwood make their return.
🛠 Production & Staff Updates
There are significant staff shifts for this final phase:
-
Masako Sato (known for Haikyu!! To The Top) takes over as director, replacing Kenji Mutō.
-
Kazuyuki Fudeyasu handles series composition and scripting duties.
-
Kiyotaka Oshiyama steps in as character designer.
-
Kouji Tajima, who contributed in Stampede, returns in the concept art role.
-
Studio Orange remains at the helm for animation, continuing the fully CG approach that defined Stampede.
Studio Orange has been praised for pushing the boundaries of CG anime (as shown in prior works like Beastars and Land of the Lustrous), and Trigun Stampede was one of their most ambitious undertakings to date.
TRIGUN STARGAZE is scheduled to broadcast in January 2026 in Japan. Internationally, Crunchyroll—which streamed Stampede—is expected to carry Stargaze as well.
