Sgt. Frog Returns: New Anime Movie Trailer Drops for 20th Anniversary
Fans of the quirky alien invasion comedy Sgt. Frog (Keroro Gunsou) have reason to celebrate: a brand-new anime feature film has been officially announced, with its teaser trailer now live.
The upcoming movie, titled Shingekijoban☆Keroro Gunso Fukatsushite Sokko Chikyu Metsubo no Kiki de arimasu! (roughly translated as Keroro Gunsou: Revival! Immediate Earth Destruction Crisis!), marks the 20th anniversary of the franchise. The teaser showcases Keroro and his platoon preparing for yet another chaotic mission, teasing new invaders and comedic battles.
The film is slated for summer 2026 and will feature returning voice cast members, including:
- Etsuko Kozakura as Tamama
- Joji Nakata as Giroro
- Takehito Koyasu as Kururu
- Takeshi Kusao as Dororo
- Chiwa Saito as Natsumi Hinata
- Akiko Hira as Aki Hinata
Adding to the excitement, Yuichiro Fukuda—known for live-action adaptations of Gintama and The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.—will serve as general director and screenwriter.
This marks the first major Sgt. Frog film project in years, reigniting nostalgia for fans who grew up with the series’ blend of slapstick humor, pop culture parodies, and heartfelt moments.
