Fifteen years after its manga conclusion, Psyren—the acclaimed psychic battle series by Toshiaki Iwashiro—is officially set to receive an anime adaptation in 2026. The announcement, revealed with a teaser visual and promotional video, has electrified fans who have long campaigned for the series to be animated.

The adaptation will be produced by Satelight, the studio behind Aquarion and Symphogear, known for its large-scale sci-fi and action projects. Katsumi Ono will direct, with Shin Yoshida as series composer. Character designs will be supervised by Akira Okuma, while the soundtrack will be composed by Takashi Ohmama, Tatsuhiko Saiki, and Shū Kanematsu.

Voice casting has also been confirmed: Rikuya Yasuda will voice protagonist Ageha Yoshina, and Mayuko Kazama will portray Sakurako Amamiya.

Originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2007 to 2010, Psyren ran for 16 volumes and built a cult following thanks to its blend of psychic warfare, mystery, and survival storytelling. Despite its abrupt ending, the manga has consistently ranked high in fan polls for “series most wanted for anime adaptation.”

With its long-awaited revival, Psyren joins the wave of classic Shonen Jump titles making their return to screens, promising high-octane battles and a faithful adaptation of Iwashiro’s vision.

Production Team Satelight (Fairy Tail, Symphogear) will be handling the animation, with a strong technical team: Director: Katsumi Ono (Skeleton Knight in Another World). Series Composition: Shin Yoshida (Sacred Seven). Character Design: Shiro Ookuma (animation director on Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus). Music: A stellar team consisting of Takashi Ohmama (Gundam: The Witch from Mercury), Tatsuhiko Saiki, and Shu Kanematsu. About the Series Psyren was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from December 2007 to November 2010, totaling 16 volumes.
