Netflix has officially announced that Keisuke Itagaki’s Baki-Dou manga is getting an anime adaptation, slated to premiere in 2026. The reveal came with a teaser trailer and the first key visual, confirming that the brutal martial arts saga will continue under the production of TMS Entertainment.

Fans of the long-running franchise will be pleased to hear that Nobunaga Shimazaki is reprising his role as Baki Hanma, keeping continuity with the previous Netflix anime series.

The new anime will adapt the first Baki-Dou manga arc, originally serialized from 2014 to 2018. The story unfolds after Baki’s climactic battle with his father, Yujiro Hanma, when the underground fighters face an unprecedented new threat: the resurrection of legendary samurai Miyamoto Musashi through a secret experiment buried beneath Tokyo Skytree.

The arrival of Musashi sets the stage for an intense clash between modern-day martial artists and a swordsman who transcends time, promising battles that blend raw technique, brutal strength, and the franchise’s trademark over-the-top spectacle.

The Baki franchise has been a staple of martial arts manga and anime since its debut in 1991, spawning multiple anime adaptations on Netflix since 2018. With Baki-Dou, the saga pushes into uncharted territory, blending science fiction, history, and bone-crunching combat.

Netflix has yet to confirm the exact release date for Baki-Dou, but with the teaser now out, fans can expect more updates in the coming months.
