After more than a decade away from the big screen, Sgt. Frog (Keroro Gunso) has officially dropped the first teaser for its highly anticipated 2026 anime movie — and it’s everything fans could hope for: chaos, nostalgia, and classic Keroro energy.

The new teaser, released via the official YouTube channel, offers a brief but exciting glimpse at the long-awaited return of the beloved alien frog and his platoon. Clocking in under a minute, the “Super Teaser” reveals reimagined visuals, bold animation, and the franchise’s signature mix of slapstick comedy and satirical flair.

🎬 A Return 16 Years in the Making

Produced by BN Pictures and directed by Yuichi Fukuda (Gintama live-action), the movie marks the franchise’s first theatrical outing since Keroro the Super Movie 5 in 2010. The film is also a celebration of the anime’s 20th anniversary, originally debuting in 2004.

Fumitoshi Oizaki returns as director alongside character designer Satoshi Koike, with original creator Mine Yoshizaki supervising. Longtime fans will be thrilled to hear Kumiko Watanabe (Keroro), Etsuko Kozakura (Tamama), and others reprising their roles.

🧭 What the Teaser Hints At

While plot details are still under wraps, the teaser hints at a fresh yet familiar Earth-invading misadventure. We see updated animation with a clean, modern aesthetic, while the voice cast slips right back into their zany groove. The movie’s tone seems to blend light-hearted parody with energetic space hijinks — classic Keroro through and through.

Adding a pop twist to the experience, the movie’s theme song “Mata Kaette Kita Kero! to March” will be performed by singer Ano and comedian Soshina, with Ano also named the film’s campaign ambassador.
