Aniplex Reveals Original Edo-Period Anime “Inherit the Winds”
Aniplex has officially unveiled a brand-new original TV anime titled Inherit the Winds, a historical drama set during the final days of the Edo period.
The series is being produced in collaboration with Live 2D Creative Studio and Drive, with Tomohiro Kawamura (known for his work on dynamic character-driven storytelling) serving as director.
A Story of Memory and the Shinsengumi
Inherit the Winds follows the journey of a young soldier who awakens with amnesia and becomes entangled with the legendary Shinsengumi, the famed samurai police force of the era. Against the backdrop of political upheaval and the twilight of the shogunate, the soldier must uncover his past while navigating loyalty, honor, and survival.
With its blend of historical drama, mystery, and action, the anime promises to deliver both emotional depth and cinematic tension.
