Anpanman’s New Movie “Pantan to Yakusoku no Hoshi” Premieres June 26

The beloved superhero with a sweet red bean bun for a head is back on the big screen. Soreike! Anpanman: Pantan to Yakusoku no Hoshi (それいけ!アンパンマン パンタンと約束の星), the 37th installment in the long-running Anpanman film series, is set to premiere in Japanese theaters on June 26, 2026.

Directed by Hiroyuki Yano, a veteran of the franchise, the film introduces a new character: Pantan, a traveling red panda with a heartfelt mission. The story follows Pantan’s quest to find a legendary “rainbow star” that holds a hidden treasure. But this isn’t just a treasure hunt—it’s a journey to honor a promise made to an adventurer, adding emotional depth to the colorful adventure.

The film promises a blend of fantasy, friendship, and courage, hallmarks of the Anpanman universe. With vibrant animation by TMS Entertainment and a screenplay by Shoji Yonemura, fans can expect a visually rich and emotionally resonant experience.
