The first trailer for Legion of Super-Heroes has been released

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released the first trailer for Legion of Super-Heroes, the upcoming animated adventure that will see Supergirl meet the team of heroes from the future.

Batman and Superman also look set to take centre stage, while the latest addition to the DC Animated Universe promises to introduce a lot of obscure comic book characters who haven’t been given the chance to shine on screen before now. Throw in heaps of action, and this looks like another worthy addition to the current iteration of this shared world.

Taking Supergirl into the 31st Century, Meg Donnelly will lend her voice to Kara in the movie, while Harry Shum Jr. is taking on the role of Braniac 5. The lead cast also includes Darren Criss as Superman, Matt Bomer as The Flash, and the return of Jensen Ackles as Batman.

In Legion of Super-Heroes, the story picks up as Kara, devastated by the loss of Krypton, struggles to adjust to her new life on Earth. Her cousin, Superman, mentors her and suggests she leave their space-time to attend the Legion Academy in the 31st century, where she makes new friends and a new enemy: Braniac 5.

The new film stars Meg Donnelly (The Winchesters) as the voice of Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, who travels 1,000 years into the future to attend the Legion Academy at the urging of her cousin, Clark Kent/Superman (Darren Criss). Once she arrives, Kara meets a vast assortment of young heroes-in-training, including Mon-El, Dawnstar, Bouncing Boy, and Shadow Lass. She also encounters Brainiac 5, a descendant of the infamous villain from her own time period. But there seems to be more to Brainiac 5 than meets the eye.
