Netflix Renews ‘Kid Cosmic’ for 2nd & 3rd Seasons
Netflix is returning to the retro-futurist, comic-book-colored world of Kid Cosmic, from creator & executive producer Craig McCracken (The Powerpuff Girls, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Wander Over Yonder). The streamer has ordered second and third seasons of the 2D-animated series, and revealed a first look at Season 2 — premiering September 7.
Kid Cosmic follows the adventures of an imaginative and enthusiastic boy who lives with his free-spirited grandpa in a sparsely populated desert town. The kid’s dreams of being a hero seem to come true when he discovers 5 Cosmic Stones of Power in a wrecked spaceship. He forms a team of local heroes to stop an onslaught of alien attacks to steal back the stones.
In Season 2, Kid Cosmic learns what it means to be a true leader as the Local Heroes embark on a space adventure to find the remaining Stones of Power and save the galaxy.
The voice cast features Amanda C. Miller (Jo), Jack Fisher (The Kid), Keith Ferguson (Papa G), Lily Rose Silver (Rosa), Fred Tatasciore (Tuna Sandwich), Bobby Moynihan (Fantos), Kim Yarbrough (Flo), Cree Summer (Queen Xhan) and Tom Kenny (Chuck).
