First Trailer Drops for GOAT, Sony’s Animated Sports Film Backed by Stephen Curry
Sony Pictures Animation has released the first teaser trailer for GOAT, its upcoming sports-themed animated film set to hit theaters on February 13, 2026. The project is executive produced by NBA superstar Stephen Curry, who also lends his voice to one of the film’s standout characters.
The film follows Will, a determined young goat with big hoop dreams, voiced by Stranger Things actor Caleb McLaughlin. Set in a world where animals compete in a brutal, biome-shifting sport called “roarball,”
GOAT is shaping up to be a fast-paced, high-energy underdog story with a big heart and even bigger laughs.
Curry, who voices a giraffe named Lenny Williamson, also produced the film through his company Unanimous Media, alongside Modern Magic. The movie features a star-studded voice cast including Gabrielle Union, Nick Kroll, Jennifer Hudson, David Harbour, Patton Oswalt, and more.
Directed by Justin Copeland and Tyree Dillihay, with a screenplay by Rodney Rothman (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), GOAT blends slick CG animation with a vibrant visual style that matches the film’s kinetic energy and emotional punch.
The film is slated for release during NBA All-Star Weekend 2026, aiming to unite fans of basketball, animation, and family-friendly storytelling in a single arena.
