Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe Trailer
‘Beavis and Butt-Head’ Paramount+ Film Gets June Release Date, Drops First Trailer
Paramount+ has debuted an official trailer for the upcoming original movie, Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe, the revival of the cult 90s cartoon that will debut later this year. The first footage from the film offers a glimpse of the “plot” of the movie while also hitting on all the benchmarks fans expect from the duo. Calling itself “the dumbest science fiction movie ever made,” and featuring a playful jab at Marvel’s Watcher character, you can check out the trailer in the player below. Look for Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe to stream exclusively on Paramount+ starting June 23.
“In perhaps the dumbest space movie ever made, Beavis and Butt-Head are sentenced to Space Camp by a ‘creative’ judge in 1998. Their obsession with a docking simulator (huh huh) leads to a trip on the Space Shuttle, with predictably disastrous results. After going through a black hole, they reemerge in our time, where they look for love, misuse iPhones, and are hunted by the Deep State. Spoiler: They don’t score.”
The series was revived in 2011 with an eighth season airing on MTV. During its initial run, the show received widespread critical acclaim for its satirical, scathing commentary on society. The show’s popularity spawned various related media, including the theatrical film Beavis and Butt-Head Do America in 1996.
The new movie is executive produced by Mike Judge, Lew Morton and Michael Rotenberg, and Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Ben Kalina, and Antonio Canobbio for Titmouse.
